When Ethics and Intuition Conflict

“Have you ever felt like your heart pulled one way, but your ethics said another?”

This is one of the trickiest situations a witch can face:

Your intuition says yes.

Your ethical compass says wait.

Or vice versa.

This lesson helps you navigate those moments where your internal wisdom and your spiritual principles seem to be in tension—so you can move forward with clarity, integrity, and trust.

A Common Dilemma

Imagine this:

You feel called—deeply called—to do a prosperity spell.

But something about the timing feels off.

You know it will work… but part of you wonders:

“Is this spell rooted in fear or alignment?”

“Am I pulling energy from someone else’s opportunity?”

“Do I feel empowered… or desperate?”

This is where discernment comes in.

A Simple 4-Step Tool: Pause – Feel – Consult – Act

  1. Pause – Breathe. Create space between the feeling and the response.
  2. Feel – Drop into your body. What does this feel like—urgency, peace, excitement, pressure?
  3. Consult – Ask your inner guides, higher self, or the Divine: “Is this in alignment with my values and my path?”
  4. Act (or Recalibrate) – Move forward with awareness—or adjust your spell, timing, or method until it feels fully aligned.

Journal Prompt

Which voice is fear, and which is wisdom?

What part of me wants to act right now?

What part of me is asking me to wait, or shift?

How can I honor both intuition and ethics in this moment?

Why This Matters

As witches, we’re constantly learning to listen—not only to Spirit, but to ourselves.

Sometimes your ethics need to speak up.

Sometimes your intuition is wiser than your rules.

And sometimes the magic lies in the middle way—a new choice that honors both.

When intuition and ethics dance together, that’s where true magic begins.
