Shadow Work Practice Scenarios
Real-life moments when your power or intuition may falter—and how to meet them with awareness
Even as your magic grows stronger, you’ll still encounter moments of doubt, fear, and energetic contraction.
This section offers you a mirror—not a critique. You’ll explore common “shadow scenarios” where your energy might leak, your intuition might be ignored, or your power might feel hidden. Through journaling and reflection, you’ll reclaim insight from these patterns.
Power doesn’t mean you never wobble. Power means you return to center with love.
Why Reflect on Shadow?
Shadow work brings the unseen into the light. It reveals:
- Patterns of self-doubt or avoidance
- Habits of giving your energy away
- Fears around being seen, heard, or fully present
- Moments when you override your inner knowing
These aren’t flaws—they’re places where your magic is still waiting to be claimed.
Reflection Scenario 1: “I knew better, but I didn’t listen.”
- What situation did I override my gut feeling?
- What was I afraid might happen if I followed my intuition?
- What story was louder than my inner voice?
Prompt:
What do I need to forgive myself for—and how can I respond differently next time?
Reflection Scenario 2: “I gave too much of myself.”
- Where did I overextend, overgive, or try to fix?
- Was I seeking approval, safety, or to avoid conflict?
- How did I feel afterward—drained, resentful, invisible?
Prompt:
What would it look like to give from overflow instead of depletion?
Reflection Scenario 3: “I stayed small.”
- When did I hide my truth, gifts, or light?
- Was I afraid of being judged, rejected, or wrong?
- How old does that fear feel—and where did it start?
Prompt:
What part of me still believes I must shrink to stay safe—and what does that part need now?
Reflection Scenario 4: “I doubted my magic.”
- When did I question whether my spells, intuition, or energy work were “real”?
- What inner or outer voice fed that doubt?
- What proof was I waiting for?
Prompt:
What signs, memories, or moments have shown me that my magic is real?
Practice: Turn the Shadow into Spellwork
Choose one scenario that stood out. Create a mini ritual of reclamation:
- Write the story on a piece of paper
- Burn it (safely), bury it, or place it under a crystal
- Speak aloud:
“I see this. I name it. I release it. I call my power back now.”
Repeat until you feel the shift.
Final Reflection Prompt
What does my shadow self want me to know—not to shame me, but to bring me home to my wholeness?
